We shouldn't hold out to see the knockout rounds. As the dance card continues to fill in, we should discuss each passing group's greatest assets and weaknesses: essentially, the reasons they progressed, the reasons they could race and the tragic flaws that often took them out in the end.
Observer's note: Since the groups officially fit the bill for the Round of 16, we'll add them to the rundown, so check back Thursday night and Friday night for data and updates on the groups from Gatherings E, F, G and H - though. We've got Brazil (Gathering G) and Portugal (Gathering H) through to the last 16 so far - making their way through to the knockouts.
