The life story of Cristiano Ronaldo.......

Cristiano has an older relative, Hugo, and two older sisters, Elma and Liliana Catia.  He was named after former US President Ronald Reagan, whom his father was influenced by.

The island of Madeira was also where Cristiano first sorted out some ways to hone his skills as a footballer.  He spent his formative years playing for his close-by bunch, Nacional, and by the time he was 12, he had just made a name for himself as one of Madeira's top footballers.  It wasn't long before he started getting the attention of other big Portuguese clubs.  At the rink was Benfica, a club Cristiano and his father followed as a young man.  However, he eventually chose to play for Wearing, a team his mother respected and followed as he grew up, playing with some resemblance to Figo as his youngster's fondest dream.

He was then spotted by Liverpool's previous director, Gerard Houllier, at the age of sixteen, at this time Liverpool had no intention of signing him as they thought he was unnecessarily young and that he really needed to cultivate his abilities with extra open doors.  However, in the pre-summer of 2003, playing against Manchester Consolidated and squashing them, Cristiano caught the eye of Manchester United owner Sir Alex Ferguson.

Ronaldo became the absolute first Portuguese player to join Manchester.  From the beginning, he referred to the number 28 as his sweatshirt number because he did not feel he could live up to the pressure of past players, for example, George Best and David Beckham who wore the number 7 jersey.

Cristiano now lives with his cousin, Nuno, and his brother-in-law Jay.  When not on the field, he is a well-organized family man.  Growing up, when he planned to take up football as his profession, he said it was undoubtedly trying for him because it meant he would have less time with his family, especially his mother, who he says is expected to be a big part of his life.

In his spare time, Cristiano enjoys cooking.  He mentioned at a gathering that he usually cooks before leaving for his football practice.  He is constantly planning, Cristiano has precious open doors and energy to sit in front of the TV.  If he gets a chance to watch, he says he's honored to watch one of the local Portuguese game shows that are usually about arbitrary information questions.  Cristiano is an enthusiastic understudy and he sees learning new things as normal.
